Players slide a story under the slot: they want the pretty right-to-left they saw on a Sunday broadcast. University Blvd does not broadcast. It stamps. If the face is late on Alberta turf, the hole is shut no matter how romantic the story sounded in the car.
Otis keeps the peg rail honest. Mae keeps the humidity named — morning Warrior fog is not the same citizen as a dry Northport afternoon. Cal refuses costume lofts the way a millwright refuses a bolt that was cut for a different flange.

They asked me to pick a climate: Warrior fog or dry noon. I said both. Cal said pick a disc or buy a second set of irons. Rude. The fog disc is the one I use.
